One hot summer day in 2006 we were at the Jersey shore playing with our kids, wearing oversized men's T-shirts and nightshirts over our traditional bathing suits for sun and body coverage. On that day, we realized that many other women on the beach were wearing those sloppy T-shirts too. We were all looking for more modest swimwear options.

Let's face it: many women don't feel comfortable in a traditional bathing suit or bikini, for many different reasons. Neither did we.

The year was 2006. There was nothing on the market aside from surfer rash guards made for teens, and nothing that fit and flattered us, two moms with adult woman figures. That's when we decided to take action. We had lofty goals: to revolutionize the swimwear market so that women like ourselves would have fabulous new swimwear choices that better suited their lifestyle and style preferences. Like many women, we wanted to be free to be ourselves without pulling or tugging or feeling self-conscious about some part of ourselves.

By 2007 we were on our way. We created HydroChic so that we could step out in style and confidence, feeling sporty and elegant, empowered to hit the pool, beach and beyond in stride.

We have never looked back, and neither will you.
