I recently celebrated my 60th birthday with my family in Eilat, Israel. Family includes my husband, married children, grandchildren and the baby of our family, our 18 year old son. We flew to our vacation destination which meant that luggage was limited. I love to wear nice clothes and I am not a good packer, but this time I knew that HydroChic would be my staple this vacation and packed a few sets: a jacket, shirt, skirt and capri pants. I knew that these outfits would be great for all the activities on my vacation, and when I woke up each morning I put on a HydroChic outfit and was ready to go. My daughters-in-law were impressed but not surprised when they saw me in HydroChic because they know that I live in my HydroChic at our community pool, and over the years I have gotten each of them a HydroChic outfit so that they can enjoy too.
“Dying young isn’t cool either…” These words, though a bit harsh, were the words that our dermatologist berated my 13 year old daughter with this morning.
The best thing about the end of a season is the opportunity for total wardrobe rejuvenation. Just as you’re getting bored of your summer outfits and accessories, it’s time to head out and stock up on some fall fashion and capitalize on this year’s fabulous autumn trends, which include:
The Trench Vest
It’s a trench coat minus the sleeves. Drape it over a t-shirt and jeans or a fitted dress to give your look an extra flair.
The Bold Handbag
Don’t hold back. Big, bright, colorful handbags are in and they’re also a perfect way to take a simple outfit to the next level. This season it’s go bold or go home!
Goodbyes are always hard, but Labor Day gives us the chance to bid farewell to Summer in style, while savoring the very last of it! So before you swap your swimsuits for pantsuits, why not pack up the family and head out for one last weekend of basking in the glorious sun? If you’re looking for a place that’s worthy of hosting your last hurrah before Fall, here’s a list of some of the country’s most beautiful and exciting shore-side destinations:
Chlorine Proof vs. Chlorine Resistant Swimwear, what’s the difference?
If you are a frequent swimmer you probably have experienced your swimsuit thinning out over time as the chlorine in the pool eats away at the Lycra® in your suit. It may happen relatively quickly or may happen over an extended period of time. It all depends on how careful you are to rinse your suit off as soon as you get out of the pool, and to wash it with some detergent when you get home in order to get out all the chlorine. If your swim suit is not properly washed and there is chlorine left in the suit, the chemicals will continue to cause the bathing suit to deteriorate, even when dry.
Does this mean you should never purchase chlorine resistant swimwear? Of course not! We love the silky smooth feel of our nylon/Lycra® line of swimwear. We use the finest Xtra Life Lycra® for the best chlorine resistance so that when you do go in a chlorinated pool (or any pool that has chemicals), the Lycra® will last longer. Most swimwear on the Market today is chlorine resistant.
We do strongly suggest that you wear our chlorine resistant line (nylon/Lycra®) for (daily) swimming and sports at the beach, ocean, lake and river.
For our frequent pool swimmers, we offer a chlorine proof line of swimwear that is not made from Lycra® and will not be eaten by the chlorine in the pool. With our chlorine proof swimwear you can enjoy your daily laps, aqua aerobics, water zumba or yoga without worrying that the material will be eaten by the chlorine. This swimwear line is made from polyester and has a longer life span and durability against the chlorine than our Ultra chlorine proof line. Our chlorine proof swimwear is perfect for land and water sports. Both the chlorine resistant and chlorine proof lines have a UPF factor of 50+ (on skin that is covered by the garments 🙂 ).
Did you know that HydroChic modest swimwear doubles as active wear and will take you literally from Swim to Gym!
Either way, no matter what you choose we hope you enjoy your HydroChic swimwear and wear it in the best of health.
